What should I do if my hot tub loses power in freezing weather?

Keep the cover closed and secured to retain heat, and check whether the outage affects your home or only the spa. Contact a qualified spa technician promptly if heating and circulation cannot be restored. There is no single safe waiting time: outdoor temperature, the water's starting temperature, insulation and the length of the outage all matter. Warm water in the shell does not guarantee that every pipe will stay above freezing.

Do not drain the shell as a quick freeze-prevention measure; water can remain trapped in the plumbing unless the spa is properly winterized. Get model-specific advice before attempting that work. When power returns, confirm that the spa resumes normal circulation and heating, then test and correct the water before soaking. Use Legacy Spas' contact details for a model-specific enquiry, and explain that the spa has lost heat in freezing conditions when arranging technical help.
