How can I tell whether my hot tub is leaking or losing water through evaporation?
Evaporation can lower the water level, particularly when the cover is off, but a continuing drop can also indicate a leak. Compare readings under similar conditions: note the water level at the same time each day, whether the cover was closed, and any use, rainfall or top-ups. Check that the cover fits properly and look for unexplained wet patches around the outside of the spa.
There is no single amount of daily water loss that is normal for every tub. A sudden change or persistent loss while the tub is covered deserves an assessment. Do not keep running equipment below the water level required by the manual. For a restoration or repair enquiry, share your water-level notes, photographs and the spa's model with Legacy Spas. Confirm available support for your particular tub, and seek prompt technical advice if loss is rapid or freezing weather complicates shutting it down.
