How should I prepare my hot tub before a week away?

Before a week away, check the water level, clean the filter if needed, and test and balance the water using your normal care routine. Keep the spa operating as its manual recommends and secure the cover. If the controls include a holiday setting, check what it does to heating and filtration before selecting it. In freezing weather, do not simply switch off a filled tub to save electricity.

Arrange for someone familiar with the spa to check its operation and maintain the water while you are away. Leave clear instructions, the correct products and a contact number for problems; a treatment added before departure is not a substitute for ongoing checks. If nobody can look after it, ask about a suitable plan before leaving. Consult Legacy Spas' resource library for your control-panel reference, and test the water again before your first soak after returning.
