Why does my hot tub foam when the jets are on?
A layer of foam that keeps building when the jets run often comes from soap, laundry detergent, body oils or lotions in the water. The jets mix air into those residues and make the problem more visible. Start by checking the water balance and sanitizer level, and clean the filter according to its instructions. Rinsing swimwear thoroughly and showering before a soak can reduce what enters the tub.
A spa defoamer may reduce the surface foam temporarily, but it does not replace proper water care or remove every cause. Follow its label rather than adding repeated doses whenever bubbles appear. If foam keeps returning, bring your readings and recent treatment details to Legacy Spas for water testing and care advice. Older, heavily used water may need replacing after the cause has been assessed.
